Pierre Chapo
A French design legend
Pierre Chapo (1927-1987) was a French furniture designer and craftsman who is known for his influential work in the mid-20th century. He is considered one of the key figures in the French design movement known as "Les Compagnons du Devoir," which was a group of artisans who advocated for traditional craftsmanship and the use of natural materials in furniture design.

If not for the five yellow letters "C-h-a-p-o" hanging on the facade, you would drive right past the workshop. The showroom that furniture designer Pierre Chapo opened in 1968, when he swapped Paris for the village of Gordes in the Vaucluse has not changed at all. The furniture is still made exactly the way Pierre Chapo wanted it. The successors remain true to his legacy.
