From 1964, the "48×72" assembly principle allowed Pierre Chapo to extend his catalog. He drew on the endless combinations of this assembly to create furniture of great finesse, as demonstrated by the S10 leather armchair, which quickly became one of the leading models at the Chapo gallery.Pierre Chapo designs the S 10 - no doubt a nod to Le Corbusier and his LC2 - which is a great success from the moment it is presented to the public. Completely dismountable, the S 10 marvelously combines the paradoxes of a complex assembly with the sobriety of a simple line. The frame of the chair supports two stretched leather panels, while the armrests are made of leather strips suspended from the seat uprights. The whole structure is held together by the tension of the seat leather on the frame, braided from linen cords.
Type of wood: elmwood.
