Charles & Ray Eames brachten variatie in hun stoelontwerpen door één zitschaal te combineren met verschillende onderstellen. Zo was de Plywood Group stoel vanaf het begin optioneel verkrijgbaar met een verchroomd stalen buizenframe, dat het ontwerp een groter gevoel van lichtheid gaf en spanning tussen de twee contrasterende materialen creëerde. DCM = Dining Chair Metal.
