Marcos Isamat with Santa & Cole

In partnership with Diez Company, Galería Santa & Cole Mexico City presents "Marcos Isamat. Sencillamente dibujo," the first exhibition to be held simultaneously in two galleries. This exhibition showcases the exquisite work of Marcos Isamat (Barcelona, 1965), whose pencil-based creations transcend simple technique to become a meeting place between nature and abstraction.

The exhibition beautifully combines Isamat's art with furniture from Santa & Cole, featuring pieces like the Ramon chair and the Subeybaja Adjustable Table. Visitors can also admire the elegant lighting fixtures such as the Sísísí Cónicas Planas, Wally Wall lamp, Cestita Metalica, and the larger Cesta Metalica with a leather handle. The portable collection is equally impressive, including the Sylvestrina, Basica Minima Bateria, Cesta Exterior, and the Cesta Alubat.

This presentation includes new works by Isamat, showcased as Neoseries, Santa & Cole’s art editions, which enhance the exhibition’s ubiquity. Each displayed painting highlights the artist’s ongoing quest to capture the essence of ordinary, everyday images. From afar, sea tides, branches, leaves, and groves of trees transform into geometric patterns and textures that define the exhibition space.

Isamat's extraordinary drawing skills vindicate the creative power of graphite in an overly-colored world. The exhibition emphasizes this meticulous and genuine technical mastery, characterized by the use of pencils ranging from the densest, such as 6B, to the most precise, such as 4H, which together create a play of light and shadow on paper.

Marcos Isamat’s work and this exhibition are an invitation to unpretentious contemplation, an opportunity to rediscover the world around us through something seemingly simple yet profoundly complex and full of nuances that can emerge from a single pencil.
