Spring is in the air
- V I T R A H O M E S T O R I E S -
Spring is the time to open our doors and windows, to let nature in and take our lives outside. As the evenings grow longer, we can relax outdoors with family and friends and enjoy meals around the table.
Wire Chair LKR Charles & Ray Eames, 1951 New Lounge-base
Featuring a welded steel wire seat shell, the compact LKR chair is a variation of the LSR models with a shell in fibreglass-reinforced or polypropylene plastic. Charles and Ray Eames used both wire and fiberglass versions in the furnishing of their own residence, the legendary Eames House in the Pacific Palisades neighbourhood of Los Angeles. Like all other models in the Wire Chair family by Vitra, the LKR is available without upholstery, with a seat cushion or with a two-piece seat and back cushion – also known as the 'Bikini' pad due to its shape. In the powder-coated variant without upholstery, the LKR is also suited for outdoor use.
Hang It All
Don't just call the Vitra Hang it all a coat rack. Designed in 1953 by Ray Eames, it was designed with colourful wooden spheres instead of the traditional hooks. It is very functional and at the same time attractive for kids, who can use it to hang their jackets, schoolbags, scarves, toys and much more. So very playful that it would be a pity to use it just in a children's room...
