Charles & Ray Eames in 1950
Comfortable design for your dining room, but just as well for a catering business, a waiting room or an office. The Eames Plastic Armchairs were designed in 1950 for the ‘Low Cost Furniture Design' competition organised by the Museum of Modern Art in New York. Today, you can still enjoy the comfort of the organically shaped seat. The current version of the Eames Plastic Armchair is adapted to today’s requirements and made from recyclable polypropylene in various colours. DAR stands for ‘Dining Height Armchair R-Wire Base' (version with a metal trestle). In collaboration with the Eames family, Vitra has updated the colour palette of the iconic Eames Plastic Chair seating shells. The colours for the seat shell have been chosen to enhance the material in any environment. In the palette offers you discover 14 contemporary shades - neutral, medium and bright. Mix and match as you like!
