Powerful designs, free from stylistic trends and without superfluous details – that’s Vitra. The combination of design, function, and quality ensures a long service life.
In 1953, Willi Fehlbaum discovered chairs designed by Charles and Ray Eames and decided to become a furniture manufacturer. His friendship with the designer duo shaped the family business. The value that Vitra places on unusual architecture is characteristic. For example, the company museum and a factory building in Weil am Rhein were built by Frank Gehry in 1989, and the head office in Birsfelden in 1994. The Vitra Design Museum displays a unique collection of furniture, lighting, and special objects. The museum is part of the Vitra Campus, a site with masterpieces by various contemporary architects.
Designcollectors has a lot of Vitra items available, such as the Akari lamps and Coffee Table by Isamu Noguchi, Standard, Table Guéridon, Tabouret Solvay, Compas Direction, Cité by Jean Prouvé, the Eames Lounge Chair, EA 217 Soft Pad, Fiberglass Chairs, La Chaise, and the Nelson Home Desk, Bench, Clocks, etc.
