The FAD lamps were originally conceived to light the erstwhile headquarters of FAD (Fostering Arts and Design) – a spearhead for decades in promoting architecture in Spain. Once again they strike a chord as an example of true industrial craftsmanship, by no means folkloric or mundane. A solid cylinder oak structure, with four openings hollowed out lengthwise, supports an almost cylindrical white linen shade. The striking cross-shaped base, exuding Miguel Milá’s creation, is the same size as the lower circumference of the shade. Unadulterated simplicity without pointless frills.
