Eileen Gray in 1932
The Menton Table is one of Eileen Gray’s most ingenious constructions, designed for her house in Castellar, on the way from Menton to the Alps. Through a simple rotation of the top you have either a low or a high table as desired. A versatile piece for everyday use. Eileen Gray is considered the epitome of Modernism and is the only woman whose name is mentioned in the same breath as Le Corbusier, Mies van der Rohe and Marcel Breuer. The base of the Menton Table is in chrome-plated tubular steel. Tabletop with linoleum surface, black on one side and grey on the other, with solid beech edging. Foldable for use in two different heights.
