Carles Riart

Carles Riart was an unusual designer in the Spanish design scene, reinterpreting traditional designs in his own way. He was the starting point of Santa & Cole’s catalogue, being first author published by the company with La Colilla lamp in 1985. From there, the whole collection slowly grew into what it is today. As a philosophy, Carles Riart selects craftsmanship in front of industrial process, aiming at timeless classics. In 2011, he received Spain s National Design Award in recognition of his career.
