Martin Visser

Martin Visser (1922-2009) completed a technical education in Hydraulic Engineering before transitioning from a draughtsman to a furniture designer. He gained prominence for the iconic BR 02 sofa bed, a symbol of modern furniture design. His work, including the BZ slatted bench, emphasizes craftsmanship and simplicity, aiming to create stylish pieces with minimal materials, characterized by clean lines and minimal decoration.

In addition to his furniture designs, Visser was a significant art collector, with a collection featuring works from artists such as Cobra, Anselm Kiefer, and Keith Haring. His influence on both design and art reflects a rich cultural legacy.
