Alvar Aalto's Stool 60 celebrates its 90th anniversary in 2023 – an extraordinary milestone for a humble wooden stool. Remaining in continuous production since 1933, Stool 60 has barely changed in either material or form, but continues to transcend both time and fashion.
Anniversary Edition: Stool 60 Kontrasti
Several special editions are being introduced this anniversary year, each celebrating Stool 60's great virtues. Stool 60 Kontrasti, the first anniversary edition available, highlights the unique solid wood bending techniques pioneered by Alvar Aalto in 1933, and brings into focus the virtues of responsible timber usage in the ingenious construction of the seat.
Introducing a Lifetime Warranty on Stool 60
Across 90 years of production, Stool 60's purity of aesthetics and solidity of construction have proven that it is built to last. In tribute to that strength, from 2023 Artek is offering a lifetime warranty on every Stool 60 purchased outside the U.S. or Canada for use in a private home.
