Designed by Alvar Aalto in 1931
This chair is part of the permanent collection at MoMa in New York. Will it be gracing your living room soon? Armchair 41 Paimio is one of the most famous designs by the Finnish architect and designer Alvar Aalto. He designed the armchair in 1931 for the Paimio sanatorium, a hospital for the treatment of tuberculosis patients. The well-considered ergonomic seating position makes it possible for lung clinic patients to sit comfortably for long periods of time and to breathe easily. Artek Armchair 41 Paimio consists of two loops in bend birch veneer. The famous Artek Paimio Armchair is available with a white or a black seat. Fast delivery from stock.
