The 24N Akari Lamp is a particular model of table lamp designed by the Japanese-American artist and designer Isamu Noguchi in the 1950s. "Akari" is a Japanese word meaning "light," and the lamps are known for their unique sculptural shapes and soft, diffused light.
The 24N Akari Lamp is part of the larger Akari Light Sculpture collection, which includes a variety of lamps in different shapes and sizes, all made from handmade washi paper and bamboo ribbing. The 24N is one of the larger lamps in the collection, standing at just over two feet tall and featuring a distinctive cylindrical shape with a slight taper towards the top.
The lamp is designed to be used on a tabletop or desk, and its soft, warm light creates a cozy and inviting atmosphere. It has become a classic design icon and is still produced today by the Noguchi Foundation in New York City.
