Designed byAlvar Aalto, 1936
In 1937 Alvar Aalto made the iconic Aalto Vase in different colours and sizes for the World Fair in Paris. Back then, the shape of the vase was ground-breaking. Alvar got his inspiration probably from the Finnish landscape and lakes. Aalto means waves in Finnish. The Aalto vase is one of the most outstanding glass objects in the world and represents the Finnish design. It is also Iittala’s most iconic collection. This well-designed 200 mm vase is an elegant addition to the Alvar Aalto Collection. Thanks to the wave-like curves, it can be used for different types of flowers. Flowers and twigs will easily find their place. Each product is individually mouth-blown at the Iittala glass factory in Finland. At designcollectors, the vase is available in several sizes and colours.
