Designer
Alvar Aalto in 1936
Alvar Aalto designed a group of “domestic helpers” in the 1930s, meant to serve the smaller needs of everyday life. These charming and versatile products had been a highly popular part of the Artek collection for many decades.
The Coat Rack 109C (1936), a practical complement to any entrance hall, is structurally based on laminated birch wood loops. These loops were used as a standard component in several Aalto products, such as the versatile Wall Shelf 112 and Umbrella Stand 115.
