artek Riihitie Plant Pot designed by Aino Aalto
HomeDesigned by Aino Aalto in 1937
The Riihitie plant pots were initially created by Aino Aalto around 1937. She used them on the terrace of the family home in Helsinki. Although they were presented at the Paris World Fair in 1937, they never went into serial production. For the celebration of Finland’s 100th birthday in 2017, Artek relaunched the ceramic planter named after the street address of their original setting. The Riihitie plant pots are handcrafted, in different shapes and sizes: shape A (small, large) and shape B (small, medium). Available in four shades, sourced from ceramic tiles created for several Aalto buildings: white, blue, grey and dark brown. For indoor use.
