The time-limited "RAR Winter Special" version allows the popular rocking chair classic by Charles and Ray Eames to shine in a new light. The earthy dark grey shell is mounted on a black frame with dark-stained maple skids. This combination gives the chair a subtle elegance and an exclusive, contemporary look.
The RAR Winter Special is available until the end of March 2013.
The Plastic Armchairs were first presented as part of the Low Cost Furniture Design competition sponsored by the Museum of Modern Art in New York. With their organically-shaped seat shell made of plastic, these chairs were later combined with different bases, and have since been renowned as a 20th-century furniture design classic. Vitra has produced these chairs in high quality since 1957.
