The Albula Table is a large occasional table, which - even though Antonio Citterio
originally designed it to match his SUITA Sofa range ) can be combined with other Vitra sofas. This is due on the one hand to its unobstructive yet distinctively formal appearance, and on the other to its decidedly warm, homely feel that is reminiscent
of mid-century design. The main features that characterise the table are the complex shape of the tabletop and the elliptic, solid wooden legs skewed one against the other.
The cut of the tabletop is not visually appealing; it also has a functional advantage:
tapering off the narrower sides, the table allows for easy access to the sofa yet always remains close enough to those sitting on it to serve as a surface for placing or keeping things on.
